YOU HAVE A QUESTION?
Here I answer a dozen of the most frequent questions that I encounter in my daily work:
How can I request / book a guided tour?
That’s easy – usually guests ask me for a guided tour or tour by phone or you can write to me.
That way we can discuss which tour you are interested in, how many people you will be, when you would like to be guided etc. If we reach an agreement, you will receive a written booking confirmation from me via e-mail or by post.
With this confirmation your booking is valid. Should you cancel your booking at a later date, my terms and conditions apply.
Is the indicated price net or gross?
All prices quoted are gross end prices, i.e. they already include the statutory rate of value added tax of 19 % – until the end of this year only 16 %.
I list this separately on my invoices, as I am liable for VAT.
Is there a minimum number of participants for the guided tours?
There is no minimum number of participants for my guided tours – but there is a maximum number of 20 guests.
If the group size exceeds 20 people, one or more colleagues from my partner network will join the group to form two or more groups.
Can I adapt details of existing tours or guided tours?
This is almost possible. Sometimes a different meeting point or end point might fit better into your daily routine programm or the length of the route can be adapted to your needs. I will be happy to incorporate your wishes as far as possible.
If you would like a more individual tour, my tailor-made tours are suitable. These are private guided tours and tours that are individually tailored to your needs.
Are there toilets on the tours?
Granted, the city of Hamburg is not richly blessed with public toilets. Nevertheless, we have attractive and clean facilities for a toilet stop on all guided tours and tours.
Are the guided tours also suitable for children?
Experience has shown that my guided tours are suitable for children from primary school age.
I like to cater for children on the way, but I do not offer tours for families only.
However, I will gladly put you in touch with an experienced colleague who specialises in guided tours for families and children.
Do the guided tours have full disabled access?
I will be happy to take your individual disabilities into consideration for all guided tours and tours. Ideally you should inform me about this in advance.
Wheelchair users should always be accompanied by another person to assist with kerbs, steps or small stairs.
In Hamburg tours with disabled access are possible.
Do the guided tours and tours also take place in bad weather?
My guided tours and tours take place in almost any weather.
In case of light drizzle or rain, an umbrella or waterproof clothing is recommended.
If we encounter an unexpected shower during a guided tour, we quickly look for to pass shelter and wait for the shower or go to a cozy café, provided that there is one open nearby.
But if there should be very heavy rain, I alternatively offer a city tour by bus, train and ship.
I am happy to accommodate the wishes of my guests. Please make sure that you wear weatherproof clothing and appropriate footwear.
Should you cancel your participation for other reasons, my terms and conditions apply.
Can I take my dog on a guided tour or tour?
As far as I am concerned, it is no problem to take a dog or dogs on my guided tours and tours with closed groups.
Your dog should enjoy walking in the city, should like the other guests and especially me like it and be kept on a leash as a safety precaution, then there is no reason why your dog shouldn’t be able to come along.
Please remember that dogs are not allowed in some restaurants, exhibitions and museums as well as on the Elbphilharmonie-Plaza.
Can I also give a guided tour or tour as a gift voucher?
Yes, of course. Just tell or write me which tour you would like to give away or what value the voucher should have.
I will send you the corresponding voucher by mail or as PDF via
E-mail to print out yourself.
Here you can order a voucher.
We are arriving by plane – can we rent a bus in Hamburg?
Yes, you can. I would be happy to help you book a bus for your city tour or your stay in Hamburg. In my partner network I work together with Hamburg bus companies and often book buses on behalf of the guests or the customers.
Options to choose from are coaches, minibuses and mini-vans, but also limousines.
How can I book a harbour tour for my group?
The harbour tours are offered by different barge companies. I would be happy to help you or your guests to choose and book a harbour tour with one of the recognized companies.
Usually the boat captains present the harbour tours in German. If you require a harbour tour in English I will take over the presentation.
