A BIKE TOUR THROUGH HAMBURG IS MUCH MORE RELAXED IF SOMEONE KNOWS THE WAY
In the meantime, tours by bike through Hamburg have become an extremely popular and sought-after way of exploring the city, because you can learn much more about Hamburg than you could on foot in the short time available. Tours to the outskirts of the city and beyond can be done by bike.
Saddle up your bike and follow me actively on impressive paths through the metropolis of Hamburg. You can bring your own bike or I can provide one for you.
Whether impressive highlights, unnoticed city districts, green oases or a jump over the Elbe – my selected tours by bike offer something special for leisure cyclists as well as experienced cyclists.
My many years of experience as a bicycle guide for recognized bicycle tour providers is an advantage, as well as the private use of the bicycle as my preferred means of transport within Hamburg and around.
PERSONAL TOUCH
Imagine you can feel the sand on the Elbe beach under your feet during your tour and enjoy an Astra in Hamburg’s oldest beach bar or reward yourself with wonderful views of the city, the port of Hamburg or the surrounding area.
With pleasure I will create your tailor-made tour by bike. Together we will carefully design a moving discovery tour according to your wishes and requirements. I will ride with you to places of your interest and my recommendation.

FAQ BIKE TOURS
Do you have questions about my tours by bike? Here you will find answers to five questions that I frequently encounter in my daily work:
Bicycles are provided and how much does it cost to rent them?
If you don’t use your own bike, I rent modern city bikes for my bike tours from my colleagues who maintain their own bike fleet, or from official rental stations.
Different frame sizes are in stock, so that there is a suitable bike for every participant.
The bikes are regularly serviced and are state of the art.
I can also provide you with pedelecs for an additional charge.
The costs for the rental are included in the price of the tour. Excluded are pedelecs.
What about safety on the tours?
Before the start of each tour I will point out the most important rules of conduct and traffic regulations. However, you are responsible for observing the road traffic regulations yourself.
For my tours with the (bicycle) I choose mainly cycle paths, quiet side roads as well as paths mostly off the main roads. Like me, many people from Hamburg use the bicycle in Hamburg every day, so that car drivers are used to cyclists. In addition, the city of Hamburg is constantly working on expanding the network of cycle paths, which in turn makes relaxed cycling possible.
In Germany there is no helmet obligation and therefore not on my tours with the (bicycle) bike. You are welcome to bring and use your own bicycle helmet. For hygienic reasons I do not provide helmets.
Please note that the consumption of alcohol on all tours by (bicycle) is strictly prohibited.
If you are already drunk before the start of the tour and I consider the road safety regulations not fulfilled, my terms and conditions apply.
Do the tours also take place in bad weather?
My guided tours and tours take place in almost any weather.
In case of light drizzle or rain, an umbrella or waterproof clothing is recommended.
If we are surprised by a shower during a guided tour, we quickly look for a shelter and wait for the shower or go to a cozy café, as far as one nearby has opened its doors.
But if it should rain cats and dogs, I alternatively offer a city tour by bus, train and ship.
I am happy to comply with the wishes of my guests. Please make sure that you wear clothes and shoes that are appropriate for the weather.
Should you cancel your participation for other reasons, my terms and conditions apply.
How fit do I have to be for a tour by (riding) bike?
On a tour by bike we are on average 3.5 hours on the road, on some tours even 4.5 hours.
Hamburg is rather flat terrain and the distances are between 10 and 30 kilometres. We are not on the run and therefore cycle at a very relaxed pace. On the way, we make many stops where I will introduce you to the city.
A cycling rest can also be planned.
Are the tours also suitable for children?
Experience has shown that tours by bike are suitable in Hamburg from primary school age. Please note that your children should be experienced and safe cyclists. Please state the age of the child(ren) when you register.
